How do I set the date and time on my PVR-H140? top - Power on the PVR-H140.
- Press the Mode button until the Calendar Icon is selected than press the OK button to enter the calendar.
- Press the menu button than use the directional buttons to highlight the lower icon to set your date and time
- Use the directional buttons to highlight either date or time.
- Once the date or time is highlighted press the right arrow on the directional buttons and press the right arrow again until the year/month/day for date or hours/minutes for time is highlighted.
- Once that is highlighted use the up/down arrows on the directional buttons to set each numerical value for the date and time setting.
- Once you have set either the date or time, press the ok button and highlight save and press ok button again to save your setting.

How do I view my PVR-H140 screen on my tv? top - Power on the PVR-H140.
- Press the Mode button until the Setup Menu is selected than press the OK button to enter Setup.
- Use the directional buttons to go into the display menu and highlight Video Output.
- Once Video Output is highlighted press the right arrow button on the directional buttons to set the Video Output to EXTER. TV and press the ok button.
- The PVR-H140 Screen will turn off and is now ready to be connected to your television video inputs.

How do I view photos from my SD/MMC card? top - First make sure you have the sd/mmc card inserted properly in the PVR-H140.
- Power on the PVR-H140.
- Press the Mode button until the Photo Player is selected than press the OK button to enter Photo Player.
- Use the Directional Buttons to highlight the folder with the green up arrow and press the OK button.
- Use the Directional Buttons again to highlight the folder with the green up arrow and press the OK button.
- Use the Directional Buttons to select the SD folder and press OK button.
- Select the photo file from your memory card that you would like to view and press the OK button.
Note: If the photo files on your memory card are not in the standard JPG or JPEG format the PVR-H140 will not recognize the photos. -
How do I transfer files from my SD/MMC memory card to my PVR-H140 internal Hard Drive? top - First make sure you have the SD/MMC card inserted properly in the PVR-H140.
- Power on the PVR-H140.
- Press the Mode button until the File Browser is selected than press the OK button to enter File Browser.
- You will see HDD (PVR-H140 internal Hard Drive) and SD (external SD/MMC memory card), use the directional buttons to highlight SD and press OK button to view contents (files and or folders) of the memory card.
- Highlight the file you want to transfer using the directional buttons once the file you want to transfer is highlighted press the right arrow button of the directional buttons to select that file indicated by a check mark next to the file. Do the same for all other files you want to transfer.
- Once all files you want to transfer are selected, press the Menu button and use the directional buttons to highlight the copy or move icon.
- Use the directional buttons to highlight either COPY or MOVE and than press the OK button.
Note: COPY will move the files from your memory card to the hard drive and keep those same files saved on your memory card. MOVE will move the files from your memory card to the hard drive and remove the files from your memory card. - Select HDD and the appropriate folder for the files you are transferring, for example if the files are photo files select photo folder, if they are video files select video folder.
- Once you have the appropriate folder selected press the right arrow button of the directional buttons to transfer the files.

How to recover the PVR-H140. top Before you get started you will needs a zipping utility. If you have this utility on your system you can skip to Down Load. ZIP Utility Please click on the link below and download the program called 7zip. Please note that we cannot provide technical support for this program. We only provide this links for your convenience. All technical support related questions should be directed to the program vendors. WWW.7-ZIP.ORG Download Go to our website www.bu-ngasariresort.com and select drivers from the top line. Under the category of PVR / Upgrades, please select PVR-H140 Data Files then with your left mouse button click on the word Go. A Dialog box will Come up to prompt you to download the update. Choose Save and save it to the Desktop. Connect Connect the PVR to your computer with the included USB cable. Power on the PVR and choose Mass Storage when prompted. If you do not make a choice, Mass Storage is selected by default. Once you have Connect to the PVR go to My Computer icon on your desktop or chose My Computer from the Start Menu. Open the Removable Disk that corresponds to your PVR. Note make sure you are on the correct device as you may have more then one Removable Disks listed. Check to see if there are any files on this device you will need to remove then first. If you do not have any files then go to Extract with the Zip Utility Remove/Clean up Old Files To remove files click on the Edit then Select All. Now go back to Edit and choose Delete Extract with Zip Utility Make sure that you are on your Desktop. Right click onto pvr-h140_restore_files.zip and select Extract Here. From that stand point all files will be extracted and you should now have a folder on your desktop called pvr-h140_restore_files. Double click onto that folder. Copy all of the folders and their files (AUDIO, FRAME, MUSIC, PHOTO, PVRDATA, VIDEO) by going to the top of the open window and selecting Edit and then Select All. All of the files should be highlighted. Go back to Edit and choose Copy. Install restored files Select the window you open in the Connect section Go to Edit and choose Paste In doing then this, it will copy the AUDIO, FRAME, MUSIC, PHOTO, PVRDATA, VIDEO folders to the root directory of the PVR. Click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the right hand corner of your task bar by the clock and disconnect the PVR. Turn the PVR off and then power back on. Your PVR is now restored and ready for normal operation. You may delete this file README.TXT from the PVR drive. -
The device freezes for no reasons. top Reason: Improper operation or external factor (ex: shaking the device while operating) causing device to freeze. Press the RESET button to cut the power and press POWER button to restart. -
The device freezes while removing memory card. top Reason: Files are copying & transferring between HDD and SD card. Removing the memory card will interrupt the operation. To safely protect your files, do not interrupt the operation during files copying & transferring. Otherwise it may cause data damage or corrupted. -
The image of the main menu becomes distorted. top Reason: Important system files lost or corrupted. HDD file system error. Do not rename or move the PVRDATA and FRAME folders in the device. If the folders are damaged, please delete them directly or format the HDD. When the above is done, use PVR Console to restore them. Use the Disk Checkup tool in the PVR Console to recover the errors. -
Can not power on the device after HDD formatting. top Reason: If the HDD is formatted, the HDD is cleaned-up including important boot-up files and system data. Install the PVR Console software in the bundled CD and connect the device to PC. The software will help to restore system data and boot up files to the device automatically. When the copying is done, restart the device for twice. -
Can not insert memory card. top Reason: Reversed direction Insert the memory card with the pins face-up. -
Can not power off the device during video/audio playback. top Reason: HDD is still operating. Press STOP button to end the operation and press POWER button to shut down the device. -
The device shuts down itself unexpectedly. top Reason: Low battery power High operating temperature. Connecting to power adapter to fully charge the device and try again. Use the device under 60C. -
The LCD turns black. top Reason: Auto Power Off is enabled. The LCD display is turned off. The device is powered off. -
The device locks-up. None of the buttons work. top Reason: Button locked. Release the button lock by switching to “unlock” position. -
The LCD display is turned off and can not be awaken by any button. top Reason: The LCD display is turned off meanwhile the buttons are locked. Release the button lock and press the LCD button to turn on the LCD display. -
Low speed on data transfer and copy between PC and the device. top Reason: The device supports USB2.0 feature, but your PC equipment does not Check if your USB port and USB cable are both USB2.0 compatible. -
Only LCD display turns off when pressing POWER button. top Reason: The POWER button has 2 functions: 1. Press to turn on/off the LCD display 2. Press and hold for 3 seconds to turn on/off the power Press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds and wait for the blue LED turns off. -
No startup screen appears after power on. Only Data Loadingpersists. top Reason: Startup screen is disabled Turn on the startup screen in SETUPMENU>>DISPLAY>>STARTUP SCRN>>ON. -
Distorted picture when outputs to TV. top Reason: Incorrect TV system setting Switch the TV system between NTSC and PAL. -
Can not use Memory Mix in Photo Player mode. top Reason: Important system files lost or corrupted. Please check if the photo frame files are well located in the FRAME folder of the PVR. -
Can not export video through AV OUT. top Reason: Video Output is not set to External TV. Use the supplied AV cable to connect to an external device (ex: TV) and choose SETUP MENU>>DISPLAY>>VIDEO OUTPUT>>EXTERNAL TV. Select VIDEO as the input source from your TV. -
No video appears when connecting AV cable in AV CENTER mode. top Reason: Wrong AV cable connection. Bad connection between AV cable and the device. Wrong TV system setting. Refer to the user guide for TV and PVR connection. Check if the AV cable is connected firmly. Choose SETUP MENU >> DISPLAY >>TV SYSYEM and select a proper TV system. -
Irregular MP3 file names. top Reason: The language display is not switched to English. Choose SETUP MENU >> SYSTEM >> LANGUAGE >> CHINESE. -
Video recording fails. top Reason: Insufficient power supply causes the device shut down during video recording. Improper interruption during recording progress. Use the power adapter as the power supply during video recording. To safely stop recording, follow the on-screen instructions to stop it. -
Distorted photo display. top Reason: The photos have not been converted and transferred by File Converter software. Unsupported file format. To playback the files from different sources (ex: dsc, wallpaper from Internet and etc.), use the File Converter software to convert them and upload to the PHOTO folder. Please make sure if the file format is JPG or BMP. -
Can not playback some videos. top Reason: The videos have not been converted and transferred by File Converter software. Unsupported file format. Please make sure if the file format is supported by File Converter software. If yes, use the software to convert the file and try again. -
Can not find the file copying or transferring to PVR. top Reason: Unsuccessful file transfer. The file failed to upload to PVR. Improper Interruption during recording progress. Use the Disk Checkup tool in the PVR Console to recover the errors. To remove the PVR from your PC, first safely stop it and then unplug the USB cable to disconnect. -
I have set Alarm function in both AUDIO PLAYER and MUSIC PLAYER, but only one of them takes effect. top Reason: The Alarm function is only working in power-on status. Only the latest setting will be used on alarm. Choose either to set alarm in Audio Player or in Music Player. -
Formatting. top - Perform Formatting Function.
WARNING: All the files and information will be deleted, so please use it in a cautious way. - After Formatting is done, the display will show a message: Connect to PC (with PVR Console installed) to store system and bootup files. Please follow the instructions and connect to your PC.
- Your PC should already have installed the software bundle- PVR Console.
- Connect the USB Cable to your PC, the PVR Console window will pop out automatically. At the same time, you will see the copying data bar on the bottom right hand side of your PC. The PVR is now performing the auto restore function. (The time for auto restore usually takes about 5~10 secs, it may vary depending on the type of PC youre using. DO NOT attempt to unplug the USB Cable from your PC.
- Auto Restore is done, you may unplug your USB cable from your PC and restart the PVR
P.S. If the auto restore fails to operate after formatting is done, either the display will show UI Resource Data Miss! Please Connect To PC) or the screen appears in a mess, you can recover the UI manually as follows: - Your PC should install the given PVR Console software
- Connect the USB cable to your PC and it will automatically operates the mass storage function

- After all the files are copied, you can safely remove the mass storage device.
- Restart the PVR engine
- If the PVR restores properly, the PVR will automatically restart itself after you turn on the unit again.

The battery power runs out to fast. top Reason: Some settings lead to great power consumption. Frequently using the battery while battery is recharging will shorten the battery life. Lower the backlight of the LCD display by decreasing the brightness level. Turn off the LCD display while playing MP3 files. Enable AUTO STANDBY function. Lower the volume. Fully charge the battery. -
The device becomes warm during operating or battery recharging. top Reason: The device temperature gets higher when it is venting heat. Watch the environmental temperature. -
Software installation takes long time and seems to cease responding. top Reason: System is compiling data. In conflict with unknown software. Anti Virus is running. Be patient in the installation progress. Do not interrupt the installation procedure. -

Note: For power saving, you can turn off the LCD screen by pressing the Power button once while you are away. When return, press the Power button again and press Play ( Play/OK button).
