Even though the Scan Dialog Box program has an e-mail function, there will be times when it is necessary to attach images to e-mails the "old fashioned" way. Usually these steps are necessary when the e-mail service doesn’t use an SMTP address (like America Online) or when the Scan Dialog Box is unable to properly connect through the mail server.

1. Sign on to Yahoo! Mail and choose Compose.
2. On the Compose Mail screen, enter the appropriate information in the "To," "Subject" and "Message" areas.

3. Click the Make an Attachment button on the lower left half of the Compose Mail screen.
   
4. An Attachment window appears.
   
5. Click the Browse button to browse through the drives and directory folders until the desired file is found. Highlight the file and click Open. Three files may be attached, but they cannot be over 500 KB in size each. Click Attach when all the files are chosen.
   
6. The names of the attached files appear to the right of the Make an Attachment button. Click the Send button to send the e-mail.
