In order to utilize the Direct Scan feature, the driver from the original installation CD must be installed first. Follow these steps:

If your system does not have Autorun, or if you are using Windows 3.1x, you will need to access the disk through the Run command.

Without Autorun

  2. Type D:\run.exe where "D:\" equals the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

  3. The installation should begin.

With Windows 3.1x

  1. Click on File and select Run.

  2. Type D:\run.exe where "D:\" equals the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

  3. The installation should begin.

  1. The installer will come to a screen with two options: Typical or Custom installation. Click the radio button in front of the Custom option and click Next.

  2. The installer will display a group of set-up options. Uncheck all of the boxes except for the one called "Mustek 1200 III EP Scanner Driver" and click Next.

  3. When the installation directory is displayed, click Next to accept the default.

  4. Click OK when prompted to accept the Acrobat Reader license agreement.
