Using The Text BridgeClassic Online Manual in Windows 95

Text Bridge Classic does not come with a paperback user’s manual. Instead,the manual is provided to you on CD-ROM in the Adobe Portable DocumentFormat (*.PDF). You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to viewthe online manual. The Acrobat Reader is automatically installed on PCswhen you install the Scanner Solutions CD.

The procedures for viewing the online Text Bridge Classic manual varyaccording to which version of the CD your Text Bridge came on. Find yourScanner Solutions CD version below for details on viewing your online manual.The version number is on the lower left corner of the slipcover your CDcame in.

ScannerSolutions Version 1.0 or 1.1

If you received Scanner Solutions Version 1.0 or 1.1 as pictured here,it does not contain Text Bridge Classic. Read Document# 7030 to find out if you are eligible for a free upgrade to Text BridgeClassic. This version of Scanner Solutions includes Wordlinx OCR ratherthan Text Bridge Classic.

Prior to viewing the Text Bridge Manual, you must install the AdobeAcrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is a copyrighted product of Adobe Systems,Inc. Please adhere to all Adobe licensing requirements when using thisproduct.

Installing the Acrobat Reader

To use Acrobat Reader, you must install it from the CD-ROM onto yourPC, as follows:

1. Click the Windows 95 Start button and click on Run.

2. [D]:tbcladocenglishacrowindisk1setup.exe

where [D] is the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

3. Follow the onscreen prompts to finish the installation.

Using the Text Bridge Classic Documentation

With the Acrobat Reader installed on your PC, you can read or printthe TextBridge Classic documentation.

If you are short on disk space, you can read the documentation directlyfrom the TextBridge Classic CD-ROM.

Otherwise, for faster access, copy the documentation to your hard drive:Simply click and hold with the mouse on the Tbcladoc folder, and drag itto your hard drive icon in My Computer.

The folder, TBProDoc.95, contains documentation for the Windows 95/NTversion of TextBridge Pro 96, which is an available upgrade from TextBridgeClassic. The information in the Pro documentation is applicable to theTextBridge Classic product. The folder, TBClaDoc.31, contains the documentationfor the Windows 3.1 version of TextBridge Classic.

To open a document, double-click on it. This launches Acrobat Readerand displays the first page of the document.

For information about using the tools of Acrobat Reader, consult theextensive on-line help provided right in the product.

Text Bridge Manual Viewing in Scanner SolutionsVersion 1.2

When you install Scanner Solutions version 1.2, you are given the opportunityto install the manual for Text Bridge Classic.

To see if it is already installed, click the Start button, select Programsthen Mustek Scanner Solutions V1.2. If there is an icon for TextBridgeUser Manual, click to view the Text Bridge Classic online manual.

If there is no TextBridge User Manual icon under Mustek Scanner SolutionsV1.2 on your Programs Menu, re-install the Scanner Solutions CD and besure to check that you want the Application Manual’s Installed. After re-installation,the manual will be listed under Mustek Scanner Solutions V1.2 on your Menu.

Text Bridge Manual Viewing in Scanner SolutionsVersion 1.3

Scanner Solutions Version 1.3 does not install the Text Bridge Classiconline manual into your computer. Prior to viewing the Text Bridge Manual,you must determine if Scanner Solutions installed the Adobe Acrobat Readeron your computer. If you told the Scanner Solutions install program toinstall the Scanner Driver Manuals or the Application Manuals, it wouldalso have installed the Acrobat Reader. If you are not sure whether theAcrobat Reader was installed or not, look on your Programs Menu under MustekScanner Solutions V1.3 to see if there are icons for any manuals. If thereare manuals listed on the menu, Acrobat Reader is installed already. Ifthere are no manuals listed, you should re-install Scanner Solutions 1.3and place a check mark next to Scanner Driver Manuals and Application Manualswhich will cause it to load the Acrobat Reader, iPhoto Plus manual andScanner Manual on your hard drive.
