| These instructions only apply to the standalone CD version of TextBridge Classic pictured above. Text Bridge Classic was recently incorporatedinto the Scanner Solutions CD. If your scanner came with Scanner Solutionsversion 1.2 or later, Text Bridge classic will be installed when ScannerSolutions is installed. See Document #7020 forScanner Solutions installation instructions. 1. Text Bridge Classic is an Autorun CD. To install it in Windows 95,insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive and close the door. 2. After a few seconds, the installation screen will automatically appear.(If the installation screen does not appear, your CD-ROM drive doesnot support Autorun CDs. You should Click the Windows 95 Start Button,select "Run" and type in D:setup assuming your CD-ROM is driveD. If your drive is some other letter, substitute that letter for the Dabove. Click OK and wait for the installation screen.) 3. Click on the Language version you wish to use during the installation.The Setup program will begin to initialize. It may take as long as 1-1/2minutes in spite of the fact that a message tells you it will only takea second to initialize. 4. From the Welcome screen, choose "Full installation (softwareand scanner)" then click the "Continue" button. 5. Click the "Accept" button indicating your agreement toabide by the terms of the software license. 6. Choose which language packs you wish to install then click the "Continue"button. These language packs control what language Text Bridge uses whenit spell checks the text as part of the recognition process. For a betterunderstanding of the recognition process read Document# 2040, "Understanding OCR". 7. The next screen shows the directory path on your hard drive whereText Bridge Classic will be installed. If you are familiar with paths,you can change this if you desire to, otherwise just click the "Accept"button and the program will install in the default directory. 8. The Setup Program will now copy the program files to your hard drive.After it is finished, you will be given an opportunity to test the scanner. 9. Mustek scanners are Twain Compliant. When asked to choose the typeof scanner driver you have, select TWAIN and click the continue button. 10. Make sure the scanner is turned on and the green LED on front issteady. When the Twain Source window opens, highlight the driver for yourModel of scanner then click the "Select" button. 11. To see if your scanner is working properly, click the "Test"button. This should open the Twain interface window. 12. It is necessary to adjust the scanner’s settings for OCR beforetesting the scanner. Open the Settings menu of the Twain window. HighlightQuick Settings and a flyout menu will appear. From the Flyout menu, clickon "OCR." Your scanner is now adjusted to the proper settingsfor performing OCR scans. 13. For the test, it is not necessary to Prescan. Just click the Scanbutton to perform the test. 14. If the scanner passes the Text Bridge Test, press the "Accept"button. 15. You will now be asked to enter your name and company name (optional),after which installation will be complete. |
