Installing Macintosh Software From Floppy Disks For Single-Pass ScanTools V3.1

Step 1. Install Color-It!

a. Insert the Color-It! disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click on it to open it.

c. Double click the Color-It! 3.0 Installer.

d. Click the "Continue" button on the introduction screen.

e. After reading the MicroFrontier License Agreement, click on "Continue."

f. Agree to the licensing agreement and click "Install."

g. Select the disk you wish to install into. The default is the Macintoshinternal hard disk. It is best to use that disk. Click on "Install."

h. When the installation is complete, click on "Quit."

i. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Note: If you have a Macintosh featuring the PowerPC format, you maywish to request the PowerPC version of Color-It!. Call our CustomerService Department to obtain a copy. Theinstallation for the PowerPC version of Color-It! follows the same stepsas outlined above and it will prompt you to switch between disk one anddisk two.

Step 2. Install Wordlinx.

a. Insert the Wordlinx disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click to open it.

c. Double click on the Wordlinx Installer.

d. When the Wordlinx screen appears, verify the disk you wish to installonto. The default is the internal Macintosh hard disk. You may click on"Drive" to switch to another drive, but the hard disk is recommended.Click on "Install" to begin the installation.

e. When the "Wordlinx was installed correctly" box appears,click on "OK."

f. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Step 3. Install the Scan Tools V 3.1 for Single-Pass Scanners.

a. Insert the Scan Tools disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the Scan Tools window opens, click on the Install Me First icon.

c. After the "Welcome" screen appears, click on "Continue."

d. When the dialogue box containing the Scan Tools information is displayed,read the information and click "Continue."

e. When the "Easy Install" window appears, click on "Install."

f. Installation will begin. A dialogue box will be displayed askingyou to "Select where to install: ColorSync Filter." Thiswill default to your Hard Disk and display your program folders.

g. Scroll through the list of folders until you locate the "Color-It!"folder.  Double click this folder to open it.

h. Double click on the "Color-It! Stuff" folder.

i. Double click on the "Plug-ins" folder. Cick on the "Select"button. The installation will continue.

j. If you have another version of the scanner driver already installed,the program will remind you that it already exists and give you the choiceto "Replace" or "Skip." Click on "Replace"to install the new driver. If this is a first-time installation, this promptwill not appear.

k. A dialogue box will appear asking you to "Select where to install: MustekF/B Scanner…" It will default to the Plug-ins folder chosen earlierin the installation. Click "Select" to install the Plug-in.

l. If you have another version of the Plug-in already installed, theprogram will remind you that it already exists and give you the choiceto "Replace" or "Skip." Click on "Replace"to install the new Plug-in. If this is a first-time installation, thisprompt will not appear.

m. After installation, the program will prompt you to restart your Macintosh.Click the "Restart" button. The disk will eject and the systemwill reboot.

Step 4. Installing the Plug-in for Wordlinx.

a. Insert the Scan Tools disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the Scan Tools window opens, click on the Install Me First icon.

c. After the "Welcome" screen appears, click on "Continue."

d. When the dialogue box containing the Scan Tools information is displayed,read the information and click "Continue."

e. When the "Easy Install" window appears, click on "EasyInstall" in the upper-left corner and select "Custom Install."

f. Click the box in front of Mustek Plug-in to check it and click "Install."

g. Installation will begin. A dialogue box will be displayed askingyou to "Select where to install: Mustek F/B Scanner…"This will default to your Hard Disk and display your program folders.

h. Scroll through the list of folders until you locate the "Wordlinx"folder.  Click once on this folder to highlight it and click "Select."

i. If you have another version of the Plug-in already installed, theprogram will remind you that it already exists and give you the choiceto "Replace" or "Skip." Click on "Replace"to install the new Plug-in. If this is a first-time installation, thisprompt will not appear.

j. The installation will continue. When it is complete, it will promptyou to click "Quit" to end. You may click "Continue"if you want to repeat some part of the installation.
