Currently there are SCSI, EPP, and USB, three types of port connections that scanners can be connected to your computer. - SCSI is an acronym for "Small Computer System Interface". This type of connection requires the use of a SCSI card.
- EPP is an acronym for "Extended Parallel Port". This type of connection allows your scanner to be connected via your computer’s Printer Port.
- USB is an acronym for "Universal Serial Bus". This type of connection is relative new to the market. Only PCs with Pentium II (w/o MMX) and the latest iMac are equipped with USB port.
