| Step 1: Unpack the Scanner and software from the box. Make sure the package has all the provided items. 1. The scanner 2. Power Adapter 3. 1200CU Scanner Installation Guide 4. Installation CD Step 2: After you have checked the package, turn on your PC and open your CD-ROM drive door. (Note: Please complete the driver installation before connecting the scanner to your PC.) 1. Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If, after inserting the Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive the installation Welcome screen does not appear, do the following: 1. Click on "START" and then select "RUN". 2. In the "RUN" dialog box, type drive:run Where "DRIVE" is your CD-ROM drive letter and click "OK". Step 3: Follow the ON-SCREEN instructions. 1. 
On the "Selecting Language" screen, choose English and click "OK". 2. On the "Welcome" screen, click "Next".

On the "Software License Agreement" screen, click "Yes".
4. On the "Choose the Destination Location to be Installed" screen, make sure it says: "C:Program Files1200CU" and click "Next" (Note: Do not 
change anything here.) 4. On the "Setup Type" screen, select typical and then click "Next". 
6. On the "Select the Program Folder" screen, make sure that "Mustek 1200 CU" is selected, click "Next". (Note: Do not change anything here.)  7. On the "Start Copying Files" screen, click "Start Install". 
8. The "Installing" screen shows the progress of the installation.
9. On the "Acrobat Reader Electronic End User License Agreement" screen,
click "OK". 
10. The "Installing" screen shows the progress of the installation. 11. The "TextBridge Pro" screen is the splash screen for the installation.
12. On the "TextBridge Pro 8.0 Setup" screen, click "Next". 
13. On the "Software License Agreement" screen, click "Yes". 14. On the "Setup Installation Type" screen, click the "Destination Directory", then click "Next". 
15. The "Setup" screen shows the progress of the installation. 
16. On the "TextBridge Pro" screen, click "Next".
17. On the "ScanSoft Product Registration" screen, click "Cancel".
18. On the next "ScanSoft Product Registration" screen, click "Yes". 19. On the "Registration Remind" screen, click "OK". 
20. On the "Install" screen, click "OK". Step 4: Connecting the Scanner to the PC. Once the PC has been restarted, plug the scanner cable into the USB port in your PC. Then connect the power to the scanner once it has been plugged into the wall. 1. On the "Add New Hardware Wizard" screen, click "Next". 2. On the "Add New Hardware Wizard" screen #2, select "Search for the best driver for your device" and click "Next". 3. Windows should find the driver that has been installed from the CD-ROM. (Note: If Windows encounters problems locating the driver files during the installation of the scanner, redirect Windows to Search for the drivers first in the C:WINDOWSINFOTHER folder, and failing that, the WIN98 folder located on your 1200 CU installation CD-ROM. Once the driver has been installed, an entry in your Windows’ Device Manager will appear under Imaging Device listing the 1200CU. The scanner’s green power light will come on as well.) Photo Express 2.0 SE Installation Walk-Through Step 5: Have your PC turned on and open your CD-ROM drive door. 1. Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If after inserting the Photo Express CD into your CD-ROM drive the installation Welcome screen does not appear, do the following: 3. Click on "START" and then select "RUN". 4. In the "RUN" dialog box, type drive:run where "DRIVE" is your CD-ROM drive letter and click "OK" Step 6: Installing your Photo Express 2.0 CD. 1. On the "Choose Setup Language" screen, choose English then click "OK".

5. On the "Setup" screen, uncheck the first two and leave the last one checked, then click "Next". 6.

7. On the "Setup Complete" screen, click "Finish".
